ERS 8800/8600 Installation and Configuration

Overview

The ERS 8000 Series Installation and Configuration course (5D00017V) will show you how to install and configure the ERS 8800/8600 series products. You will learn to install and upgrade software and configure traditional features such as Ethernet switching and resiliency features and IP routing and resiliency features. This course also prepares you for the ERS 8000 Series Advanced Configuration and Maintenance (5D00018V or 5D00018I) course.

Pre-Requisites
  • A very good understanding of Ethernet network communications including IP Routing and frame switching.
  • A very good understanding of IP Routing.
  • A very good understanding of Ethernet technologies.
  • A very good understanding of VLANs and 802.1Q frame tagging.
  • A very good understanding of Router and Switch operation.
  • The ability to describe how Ethernet Switching, IP routing, Spanning Tree, and VLANs operate.
  • Possibly gained accreditation with other manufacturer’s switches.
